Ireland v Wales (Kick-off 3.00pm). John Inverdale introduces coverage of the final match on the opening weekend of the tournament, staged at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Both nations won three and lost two of their fixtures in last year's competition, and met in the quarter-finals of the World Cup, with Wales winning 22-10 before being eliminated in the semi-finals against France. Ireland have home advantage, but must cope without key centre Brian O'Driscoll, who is set to miss the entire tournament through injury. New England Patriots v New York Giants (Kick-off 11.25pm). Mark Chapman presents coverage of American football's showpiece match, held at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. This fixture is a repeat of Super Bowl XLII in 2008, which the Giants won 17-14 after overturning a 7-3 half-time deficit. The Giants were NFC East champions this season and have won on the road against Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers during the play-offs, while the Patriots have justified their position as the top-ranked side in the AFC.
